Prison scares me. Being confined. Not having my freedom. But I’ve always looked at our justice system kinda sideways. How is that sentence justice and this one isn’t? Are our courtrooms really just leveraged by luck and semantics? Or something more devious. Then what of prison and private prison.
So when I saw this book I thought it would be worth a read.
Truly fascinating. He not only gives some detailed accounts from his time serving as a correctional office in a private prison but also the history of prison in America. I just listened to “seeing white” by scene on radio and think these two pair so well together.
No real notes or highlights to speak of for this book but a very very interesting book!
